Among the ancient classic buildings, the Pantheon is certainly the best preserved one, as a result of its transformation into a Church (Saint Mary and the Martyrs)in 609. The original structure was constructed between 27 and 25 BC by Marcus Vipsanio Agrippa to celebrate Augustus and was then dedicated to the main deities of the Julio-Claudian family. The present building was reconstructed during Emperor Hadrian’s time (118-125 AD). Un enorme muro cilindrico (la Rotonda) di oltre 6 metri di spessore sorregge la monumentale volta, la più grande cupola realizzata in calcestruzzo romano, del diametro di 43,30 metri e pari di height.
Opening hours
*ticket office open until 6:00 pm – last entry for individual tickets 6:30 pm – last entry for groups and schools 6:00 pm.
Opening hours may be subject to change during religious celebrations.
Ticket sales will be suspended one hour before the beginning of any liturgical activity.
During the Holy Mass (5:00 pm on Saturdays and vigil days, 10:30 am on Sundays and holidays), entrance is free for the exercise of worship.
Closure
December 25th and January 1st, unless otherwise specified for special openings by MiC projects, pursuant to Ministerial Decree 330 of 30/06/2016 — Criteria for the opening to the public, supervision and security of state museums and cultural sites. This Istitute strives to offer the pubblic the widest possible visiting hours.

Access to the Pantheon is allowed only through the purchase of official tickets via the Musei italiani website, the Musei italiani app, or on site at the ticket offices or automatic vending machines. https://portale.museiitaliani.it
Please respect the time slot chosen at the time of purchase. “Skip-the-line” entry is not available.
Pantheon is not included in the Roma Pass and Omnia card circuit.
The visiting calendar is defined monthly, and tickets are released for sale in the middle of the previous month.
Free Sundays and free admission days
On these occasions, no online reservations are available.
All visitors, individuals and groups, must queue to collect a non-nominal free ticket at the entrance.
NOTICE TO VISITORS
The Pantheon is a Basilica. Therefore, all visitors are kindly asked to observe a few simple rules to respect the sacred nature of the site. During religious services, entrance is reserved to worshippers only.
DRESS CODE
Appropriate attire is required for entry into a place of worship. In particular:
– Shorts or skirts that are too short or excessively low-cut clothing are not permitted.
– Shoulders must be covered.
– Please avoid transparent garments.
BEHAVIOR
– Maintain a respectful and quiet attitude.
– Switch off or silence electronic devices.
– Food and drinks are not allowed inside.
– Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly forbidden.
– Pets are not allowed, except for guide dogs or certified service animals for documented medical needs.
ACCESSIBILITY
Visitors with disabilities or reduced mobility may enter via the external ramp on the Via della Minerva side.
No cloakroom service is available.
Security and reception staff are authorized to deny entry to anyone who does not comply with these rules.

Entry is allowed in time slots subject to availability and religious requirements.
Punctuality is essential.
Only in case you do not receive tickets with QR codes, the receipt of payment may be used for access, subject to staff approval.
INDIVIDUAL TICKETS
Up to 10 tickets can be purchased per transaction.
Each visitor must enter their personal details at the time of purchase.
The individual ticket entitles the single visitor to access the site independently, without taking part in an organized group or a guided tour.
Tickets are nominal: if the name on the ticket does not match the ID presented at the entrance, access will be denied.

One name change is allowed for tickets purchased online through the Musei Italiani website, within the user’s personal area. Changes must be made until 24h before the date and time of the visit.
SCHOOL GROUPS
Tickets can be collected on site by presenting an official list of students and accompanying teachers on school letterhead, signed by the school. No booking required.

Each time slot allows up to 26 participants total (25 visitors + 1 licensed guide or certified tour leader).
Group ticket validation is only possible when all participants are present, and access occurs in a single operation via one group ticket.
