Casa Pasolini

THE MUSEUM

Pier Paolo Pasolini arrived in Rome in 1950 with his mother, Susanna Colussi, and soon settled in Via Tagliere 3, in the Rebibbia district. The flat was the first home the poet rented in the capital, where he lived between 1951 and 1954: complex years, marked initially by unemployment and then by the start of his teaching career at a school in Ciampino.

The dwelling consists of two rooms, with a kitchen and bathroom, covering a total area of approximately seventy square metres.

Acquired by the Ministry of Culture thanks to a donation from film producer Pietro Valsecchi, the flat has become part of the national museum network.

On the fiftieth anniversary of Pasolini’s death, it has been restored to the city as a living place of culture and memory, a tangible testimony to his years in Rome and the human and intellectual formation of one of the greatest authors of the twentieth century.

It is now open to the public and hosts visits, educational activities, lectures, film screenings, both in person and via streaming, becoming a space for cultural participation dedicated to the figure and legacy of Pasolini.
